Death in the Desert

Denis and Tanja Katzer are travellers in the great tradition of Richard Burton, Freya Stark and Wilfred Thesiger. In more than a decade journeying together they have crossed Mongolia on horseback, Nepal by elephant, and the Sinai, Pakistan and the Taklamakan Desert with camels. Now they are about to embark on one of the longest, most arduous journeys of all. For three years they will attempt to cross Australia, from south to north and west to east, with a camel train and their dog Rufus for company.
